Whale
Watching Tours!
Magnificent Whales!
Whale watching tours at Virg's Landing in Morro Bay, California are
absolutely spectacular.
My wife and I went whale watching and we will never forget the
adventure. My friend, Sharon Moores, the owner of Virg's Landing
invited us out to watch the Gray Whales as they migrated south.
We left port about 9.00AM and went out about 5 miles before we located
a herd of whales. I guess you would call them a herd. Maybe
a pack of whales would sound better.
The pictures you see are only half the story. To watch these wonderful
creatures glide through the sea waters and blow their spouts high into
the air was unbelievable. We are still having
a hard time believing we actually saw a whale breach. I mean to
tell you this whale came all the way out of the water, twice.
If you have never been whale watching I highly recommend you go on a
whale watch tour with Virg's Landing in Morro Bay, California
The Captain of the Admiral (a 90 foot boat) knew exactly how to find
the whales. The crew was great in helping us take pictures.
The landing whale watching tours are great!
According to Virg's Landing,
"The waters off Morro Bay are home to an
incredible assortment of marine mammals. The most common whales
sighted on our whale watching adventures are the majestic Pacific Gray
Whales but the central coast hosts over 30 different species of whales
and dolphins. Occasionally, we are lucky enough to spot Orcas,
Humpback, Minke, and Pilot Whales.
Blue and Humpback Whales
In recent years Humpback Whales, which are usually seen off the coast
of Hawaii, have been visiting the area during the summer to feed on the
krill produced in the clean ocean waters off Morro
Bay.
Whether you live in SLO County or you're just here visiting on
vacation, you owe it to yourself and your family to go whale watching
out of Morro Bay. This is a treat we're sure you'll remember forever.
We often see harbor seals, sea otters, sea lions, an assortment of
birds and other fantastic marine life so don’t forget your camera and
binoculars!"
